Oil is taken from the ripened fruits by traditional methods.

The oil of this plant, which has become very popular in recent years, is very valuable and it contains triglycerides, fatty acids (oleic acid, linoleic acid, stearic acid and palmitic acid), triterpene alcohols, sterols, methyl sterol, vitamin E and phenolic compounds.
